Dorothea Zeyringer is a performance artist based in Vienna. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna and studied at the Inter-University Centre for Dance in Berlin. In her artistic practice, she focuses on translating research into poetic texts and performance. Working with objects and language, she talks in a simple way about questions that occupy her mind, always from a feminist perspective. She is interested in establishing connections to art history in order to learn from women* artists and their work and to foster a dialogue between the present and the past.

She occasionally works as an artistic mentor or outside eye and teaches performative practices. In previous years, she has worked with the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Im_Flieger, and Tanz*Hotel Vienna, as well as providing artistic feedback and rehearsal assistance to artists Veronika Hösch, Michikazu Matsune, and Margot Pilz.

Dorothea has been awarded the danceWEB Fellowship (2017), a BKA Start Fellowship, the BMKOES Paris Fellowship (2022), and the Recognition Award by the State of Lower Austria in the category of dance and performance (2026).

As part of the duo Sööt/Zeyringer, she has been producing performative works together with Tiina Sööt since 2012. In their ongoing collaboration, they explore the intersection between visual and performing arts by developing performances, audiowalks, and installations for theatre and exhibition spaces as well as the public realm. Their works have been presented internationally and have received numerous awards.
