The tip of my tongue
Performance and Objects – 10 min., 2024
The artist holds three frames in front of her upper body. With her tongue, she cuts the semi-transparent paper. A poem is spoken through the holes in the paper. In reference on Renate Bertlmann's performance “Deflorazione in 14 Stazioni” from 1977 Dorothea Zeyringer developed the work The tip of my tongue in which she uses the tongue as a knife to cut the paper shield in front of her. She then speaks a text about the silencing of women and in an act of self- empowerment the tongue turns into a weapon that forms sharp and dangerous words.
